At Science Meets Mind, I honour the deep trust my clients place in this space, in my practice and in me.
The words below are shared anonymously with permission — a small glimpse into the journeys of healing, discovery, and transformation that happen in the office on the chair, on the bed, or in the quiet safety of a client’s home through a virtual session.
Hypnotherapy is a modality that tends to surprise people—
but don’t just take my word for it.
These reflections come directly from clients who’ve experienced this work firsthand. Their stories are shared anonymously and with permission.
Take your time, read their words, and decide for yourself.
If you feel like we might be a good fit, I’d be honoured to walk that path with you.
Your mind holds the map. We explore it together.
Why I Share Testimonials Anonymously — and Why That Matters
I live and practice on a small island, in a tight-knit community where people know each other. That means privacy isn’t just important—it’s critical. And I don’t take that lightly.
In my work, I’m trusted with some of the most private parts of people’s lives—vulnerability, grief, trauma, transformation. I treat that trust with the utmost seriousness. Our conversations are confidential. What you say to me stays between us. I shred any physical notes after they’re filed, and I’m fully compliant with ARCH (Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists) and the BCCNM (British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives).
As far as the world is concerned, our conversations don’t exist unless you give me explicit written permission to share. And that includes testimonials.
When I share feedback, it’s always anonymous—not just to check an ethical box, but because I believe deeply in protecting the people in my care.
I don’t just respect your privacy—I advocate for it.
I protect it.
And I’m militant about it.
One of my classmates once called me “a military nurse” because of how fiercely I defend client boundaries and how quickly I’ll go to battle to keep someone safe. That’s who I am. That’s how seriously I take this work.
Whether you’re in my care or simply considering it, know this:
You are protected here.
Your story stays yours.
And I will fight to keep it that way.
To my existing clients who helped contribute to this page:
Thank you for trusting me with your journey.
It is my honour and privilege to be able to do this work.
What Hypnotherapy Feels like - in their own words
Real experiences. Shared anonymously.
“It’s like going on vacation, but you never leave the room.”
“It’s like taking a nap, and having a dream you can control — but you’re awake the whole time.”
“It’s like being guided to a place I’ve never been, but at the same time, it feels familiar. It’s so wild — because I get to create the entire world. I get to choose what everything looks like, feels like, even smells like. It’s nothing like traditional therapy.”
“It’s like going into a video game — like The Sims 4. You get to build your entire universe from scratch, and you get to experience the tutorial while creating it at the same time. The world around you melts away… and it never feels long enough.”
“I live with chronic pain. My baseline is usually an 8. After my first session, it was a 2 — and we hadn’t even talked about pain. It’s like my body knew what I needed. This feels like magic and healing all at once.”
“I don’t talk about my feelings. I didn’t think this kind of thing was legitimate or even real. I started to laugh, thinking what I was feeling was silly — and then boom. I suddenly realized I was in this world where I was able to relax, and it felt so good. I never let my brain shut off. I didn’t even remember everything we did, but I didn’t care. It was the first time I felt relaxed in years — and that night, I slept like a log. I was so skeptical. Now I’m not. It works.”
“I’m not a visualizer. I’m not creative. I was worried this wouldn’t work for me because I’m anxious and I only see darkness. But it doesn’t have to be anything other than listening to your own heart. My personal power was returned to me. My anxiety made it so I couldn’t do demos for work — after one session, I wasn’t shaking when I talked. I spoke in front of people with confidence. Something I could never do before. I fell in love with myself. And I can never go back. You don’t have to see anything to benefit. If you can imagine — you’re already there.”
“I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was so nervous — and it was so much easier and better than I ever expected.”
“I love how I can close my eyes, go to my safe space, and ground myself in minutes — it used to take days.”
“Traditional therapy made me feel stupid. This therapy made me whole.”
“I never once felt I couldn’t be myself with Kiana. She made me feel comfortable enough to cry on day one and made me realize we don’t have to carry everything alone.”
“This was totally a curiosity thing for me. I didn’t expect it to work — let alone rock my world. My entire life changed because this was the only therapy method that started at the root of why I sabotaged myself and allowed me to change direction. You don’t have to believe in it — it works - even if you don’t.”

What It’s Like Working With Me
Real words from real clients — shared anonymously and with care.
“I never once felt I had to be anyone but myself with Kiana. She made space for all of me — even the parts I’ve always hidden. She’s not just kind — she’s deeply intuitive. She saw me before I said a word.”
“Kiana didn’t try to fix me. She reminded me that I wasn’t broken in the first place. That changed everything.”
“Kiana is welcoming, authentic, and kind. She listens actively — and when conflict arises, she listens, asks questions, and helps find the best way forward. She accommodates what I need… even when I don’t know what that is yet. I never knew therapy could feel like this.”
“A friend recommended Kiana to me because her practicum is free and I’ve been struggling a lot with my late diagnosis of ADHD. She was kind, listened, and tailored our sessions to be exactly what I needed. She made time for me, scheduled around my time blindness, and had no issue bringing in sensory items or taking breaks. I’ve never met someone in a health care capacity who took the time she did to find out what I needed — and not just accommodate me, but meet me where I was and then build a path with me we could discover together. I’m grateful for her.”
“She’s open and transparent about how hypnotherapy works for her. She immediately made me feel like I could talk to her about anything. I’m someone who doesn’t visualize easily, but sitting with her felt like making a new friend. We had a cup of tea, and after our first session, I could tell she was going to personalize everything to me — and I’ve never had anyone do that before. She makes me feel like a person, not a number. I make time for her sessions every week, and I look forward to them.”
“There was no pressure to ‘do it right.’ She met me exactly where I was — messy, emotional, skeptical — and held space until I was ready to move.”
“Kiana understands silence. She understood I was reluctant to share, so we went at my pace. She had me laughing and opening up by the end of our first session. It felt like we had known each other for years.”
“Kiana is the kind of practitioner who makes you feel like you’re the only person in the world. She listens like it’s a gift. She guides like it’s a calling.”
“Kiana has such a soothing voice. Sessions feel like an invitation to sit with myself — and I never get time for that at home. Her office and our time together are the weekly gift I give myself. I hope she never stops doing what she does.”
“I’ve tried a lot of therapies, but nothing felt this personal. Kiana actually cares. She remembered things I forgot I told her — and somehow wove them into the sessions in a way that made me feel seen, respected, and safe.”
“She’s the first person I’ve worked with who felt both clinical and compassionate. There’s science behind what she does, but there’s also deep heart. It’s rare to find both in one place.”
“Working with Kiana is like being welcomed into a space where your healing matters. Not someday — but now.”
“I came in not knowing what to expect. I left knowing I had just experienced something powerful, and that I had finally found someone who could help me understand myself better.”
“She’s not afraid of your trauma. She doesn’t flinch. She holds it gently — and reminds you that you’re not too much, not too broken, not too late.”
"She's very professional. I didn't realize at first that she was a student, I thought she had been practicing for ages. She conducts herself with compassion and grace but she knows her stuff and she will research any question she doesn't know. I always learn something new about our brains when we meet and I love that. "
"She's incredibly organized—from day one, I received a welcome package that clearly laid out what to expect and how she'd support me. She’s open, friendly, and radiates the energy of someone who truly cares and is deeply intelligent. I never have to ask for a follow-up email—it always arrives within hours of our session, and if I ever have questions, she responds almost immediately. I've never felt more supported or more seen."
